With more than 10,000 students, the College of Arts and Sciences is the largest academic unit on the Bloomington
campus. The College is home to more than 40 percent of IU undergraduates who have declared majors. In addition, the
College plays a significant role in the education of all undergraduate students on campus by offering the foundational
course work for most degree programs in other schools. More than 60 percent of the undergraduate credit hours each
semester on the Bloomington campus are taught by College of Arts and Sciences faculty. In addition, the College is
home to the largest number of graduate students on the Bloomington campus, offering more than 100 different advanced
degree programs.
