NIH Modular Grant budgets

For grants that use modular budgets, the NIH does not require the typically detailed budget proposal attachment.  However, to approve proposals as they route through ERA, the College Dean’s Office needs to have some detail on the proposed budgets. To be specific, the ERA routing form should list the following for each year of support:

  • Total salary costs for PIs, differentiated by anticipated overall Academic-year vs. Summer salary costs
  • Volume of planned graduate student stipends and non-resident tuition support required
  • Total salary for other personnel (overall academic, PA and non-exempt totals only)
  • Total equipment (>5k$) purchases
  • Subcontracts
  • Brief description of any other significant (>10% total) budget components not listed above
