January 15, 2002
Present: Linda Smith, Walter Gantz, Michael Gasser, Steven Stowe, Olivia Snyder, Lynda Delph, Georgia Strange, Aimee Dawson, Kirstine Lindemann, Sharon O'Bryan, and Catharine Hoff.
Absent: Cynthia Bannon, Richard Carr, Allan Edmonds, Gerald Wright, and Jim Craig.
ACTIONS
1. Approved minutes of December 10, 2001 meeting.
2. Approved interdepartmental major program in Speech and Hearing Sciences and Linguistics.
DISCUSSION
The Committee continued discussion of math skills with attention to courses suitable for a requirement beyond fundamental skills proficiency.
The Committee began a discussion of distance education. The discussion included terms to be defined for consideration of issues, and possible guidelines for how distance education courses can be applied to undergraduate degree programs in the College.
The next meeting is scheduled for 8:00 am on Tuesday, February 5, 2002, in KH 007.
