College of Arts and Sciences Professional Enrichment Program

The IU Bloomington College of Arts and Sciences in conjunction with the Advance College Project invites you to take part in its summer courses for teachers. Please note that these ACP teacher training opportunities are meant specifically for those teachers who have applied to and who have been accepted into the Advance College Project. Participants must complete the entire training before they will be allowed to apply for graduate credit. This credit can be used to meet continuing education credit requirements, or applied toward the completion of a Master of Arts for Teachers degree at IU. Teachers who meet the criteria established by the state can use these classes as Certification Renewal Units towards licensure renewal.

ACP teacher training opportunities are listed below and will be offered in summer 2014.

  • COLL C555/ENG-L 202 Literary Interpretation Teacher Training (Variable Credit)
    Dates: June 23rd - June 27th (Monday - Friday)
    Time: 8:30am - 3:30pm
    Facilitator: Professor John Schilb
    Location: Springhill Suites by Marriott Bloomington
    Deadline to apply for graduate credit for this course: July 25, 2014
  • COLL C555/ENG-W 131 Elementary Composition Teaching Training (Variable Credit)
    Dates: July 14th - July 18th (Monday - Friday)
    Time: 8:30am - 3:30pm
    Facilitator: Professor Christine Farris
    Location: IUB campus; IMU, Georgian Room
    Deadline to apply for graduate credit for this course: July 25, 2014

Costs and financial assistance

Teachers who are in-state residents may register for courses at the graduate rate of $321.90 per credit hour, plus fees. Out of state residents will pay $938 per credit hour plus fees. The fee schedule is available through the Bursar’s Office:
