Impounding :: FAQ

Question: I noticed that you are asking us to impound devices for Boomilever and Tower Building when it clearly states in the rules that there is no impound. Is it required that we impound our device?

Answer: Yes, we are REQUIRING each team to impound their device. Failure to impound will result in a penalty and you will be ranked below teams that are disqualified – tier 4 for towers. We need the impound time to measure & weigh these devices otherwise we cannot get all 26 teams tested in a timely fashion. Also, it is to your advantage to impound – by impounding your students is not having to carry these devices all over campus in potentially wet weather.

Question: Can teachers, parents or alternates impound devices for our official competitors?

Answer: Yes, however during impound the supervisor may have questions so it is best if one of the students competing with the device is available during impound.
