Bio-Process Lab (B) – Chemical/Splash Goggles (ANSI Z87) is required.   These must seal tightly to the face completely around the eyes and have indirect vents.  Teams that do not have proper eye protection will be disqualified.

Can’t Judge A Powder (B) – Event supervisors WILL provide 1 molar sodium hydroxide.  Chemical/Splash Goggles (ANSI Z87) is required.   These must seal tightly to the face completely around the eyes and have indirect vents.  Teams that do not have proper eye protection will be disqualified.

Cell Biology (C) – Chemical/Splash Goggles (ANSI Z87) is required.   These must seal tightly to the face completely around the eyes and have indirect vents.  Teams that do not have proper eye protection will be disqualified.

Chemistry Lab (B) – Chemical/Splash Goggles (ANSI Z87) is required.   These must seal tightly to the face completely around the eyes and have indirect vents.  Teams that do not have proper eye protection will be disqualified.

Elevated Bridge (B & C) – Safety Spectacles with Side Shields (ANSI Z87).  These provide particle protection only.  Teams that do not have proper eye protection will be disqualified.

Egg-O-Naut (C) – HIGH Impact Eye Protection (ANSI Z87+) is required.  Teams that do not have proper eye protection will be disqualified.

Environmental Chemistry (C) – Chemical/Splash Goggles (ANSI Z87) is required.   These must seal tightly to the face completely around the eyes and have indirect vents.  Teams that do not have proper eye protection will be disqualified.

Reference Materials
FOR DIVISION B ONLY – All events that currently ALLOW one page or more of resources WILL now allow ONE 3-ring binder.  The materials must be 3-hole punched and inserted into the rings (sheet protectors are allowed).  The events that this affects are:

  • Anatomy
  • Bio-Process Lab
  • Disease Detectives
  • Dynamic Planet
  • Ecology
  • Fossils
  • Meteorology
  • Ornithology
  • Physical Science Lab (part II only)
  • Road Scholar
  • Science Crime Busters
  • Solar System
  • Shock Value

Science Crime Busters (B) – Chemical/Splash Goggles (ANSI Z87) is required.   These must seal tightly to the face completely around the eyes and have indirect vents.  Teams that do not have proper eye protection will be disqualified.

Technical Problem Solving (C) – Chemical/Splash Goggles (ANSI Z87) is required.   These must seal tightly to the face completely around the eyes and have indirect vents.  Teams that do not have proper eye protection will be disqualified.

Trajectory (B & C) – Eyewear rated Z87+ is required and this code must be clearly imprinted on the goggles by the manufacturer.  Teams that do not have such goggles will be disqualified and will NOT be given an opportunity to launch.
