William G. Bray Memorial Scholarship


This scholarship was established to honor the memory of William G. Bray, author, lawyer, and distinguished congressman from the 7th (later 6th) Indiana District. Congressman Bray served in the 82nd through the 93rd congresses.


  • Current sophomore or junior at IUB with full-time enrollment
  • Must be enrolled as a full-time student during semesters in which award is received
  • High academic merit, including a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.750
  • Major or minor in History or Political Science or Operations and Decision Technologies
  • Demonstrated record of "good campus citizenship"
  • Must be available, if selected, for an interview with the selection committee.

Preference given to Indiana residents. Financial need is considered when all other criteria are equal.

  • Two letters of recommendation


The selection committee generally makes two to three annual awards of $500 to $1,000. Recipient(s) must write letter of thanks to Mr. Richard Bray.
