Mikaela Akrenius is a PhD candidate in Cognitive Science at Indiana University Bloomington. Prior to joining IU, she completed a master's in Cognitive Science at the University of Helsinki. Her research concerns how people perceive and process information when making decisions between risky options. Currently, she studies how information theory could be used to enrich psychological and behavioral models of risky choice, and how these models could be embedded within models of complex systems science. Mikaela is a Fulbrighter and has served two terms as the Cognitive Science representative and in the Diversity Committee of the IU Graduate and Professional Student Government.
