Alyssabeth joined Latino Studies as Program Manager in September of 2021. She is originally from Texas with a background in Studio Art, Art History, and History with an emphasis in Pre-Columbian Mesoamerican cultures. Her particular interest lies in the relation between textiles and identity and storytelling; how craft is not merely functional but also spiritual and expressive. Alyssabeth’s favorite aspect of working in higher ed is being surrounded by the bright minds and futures of professors and students. Universities are a hotbed of discovery and adventure that she never ceases to enjoy. She is a voracious reader, lover of nature, and expert knitter.
