Biography

Richard Henne-Ochoa, PhD, holds appointments at Indiana University, Bloomington, as Director of the American Indian Studies Research Institute and Academic Specialist. Dr. Henne-Ochoa has expertise in the fields of Education and Linguistic Anthropology. His teaching philosophy is anchored to the idea that teaching and learning is about relationships. Dr. Henne-Ochoa brings to the Kovener program many years of experience as an inclusive educator in higher education. He has taught courses that examine schooling and social inequities, including a focus on race, ethnicity, class, gender, disability, culture, and language.
