Class description:
Native American maps narrate visual histories of Indigenous societies and their relationships with the communities and environments that sustained them. In this digital history course, we will interpret the stories inscribed in Indigenous maps and explore the dynamic worlds and cosmologies they reveal. We will learn digital archival research, create interactive GIS maps, and produce story maps that acknowledge Indigenous communities who have enduring connections to the land on which Indiana University Bloomington is built.
