The amount of the Mary Prudence Arnott Craig Scholarship and the number of recipients vary from year to year. The scholarship may not be available some years.
Mary Prudence Arnott Craig Scholarship
Eligibility
To be eligible for this scholarship, you must:
- List an intended major in the College of Arts and Sciences on your application for admission to IU Bloomington
- Be admitted to IU’s freshman class for the coming academic year
- Have achieved outstanding academic success in high school
- Exhibit potential and motivation to succeed
Application process
Students apply using IU’s online Selective Scholarship Application (SSA). You’ll be notified if your IU Bloomington application for admission qualifies you to be invited to fill out the SSA.
The College’s Scholarship Committee chooses recipients and notifies them in March.
Deadline
Applicants must submit a completed application for admission to IU Bloomington by November 1. Then they must complete the SSA by the date specified on the SSA.
Renewal
This scholarship may be renewable for up to four years.
About the donor
Sandra Cottingham, B.S. 1981, established this scholarship to honor the memory of her great-grandmother, Mary Prudence Arnott Craig, who was the only female member of the IU graduating class of 1884.
