The amount of the Robert and Marjorie Mann Undergraduate Scholarship in Chemistry and the number of recipients vary from year to year. The scholarship may not be available some years.
Robert & Marjorie Mann Undergraduate Scholarship in Chemistry
Eligibility
To be eligible for this scholarship, you must:
- List chemistry as your intended major on your application for admission to IU Bloomington
- Be admitted to IU’s freshman class for the coming academic year
- Have achieved outstanding academic success in high school
Preference
Preference is given to students who have financial need.
Application process
Students apply using IU’s online Selective Scholarship Application (SSA). You’ll be notified if your IU Bloomington application for admission qualifies you to be invited to fill out the SSA.
The Department of Chemistry’s Scholarship Committee chooses recipients and notifies them in March.
Deadline
Applicants must submit a completed application for admission to IU Bloomington by November 1. Then they must complete the SSA by the date specified on the SSA.
Renewal
This scholarship may be renewable for up to four years.
About the donor
Robert Mann, B.S. 1945, established this scholarship to honor the memory of his late wife, Marjorie Mann, B.S. 1943. Robert and Marjorie were natives of Decatur, Indiana, and graduates of the Department of Chemistry.
