The amount of the Waller Family Scholarship in Biology or Psychology and the number of recipients vary from year to year. The scholarship may not be available some years.
Waller Family Scholarship in Biology or Psychology
Eligibility
To be eligible for this scholarship, you must:
- List biology or psychology as your intended major on your application for admission to IU Bloomington
- Be admitted to IU’s freshman class for the coming academic year
- Have achieved outstanding academic success in high school
- Have demonstrated leadership ability
- Have financial need
Preference
Preference is given to students who plan to attend medical school.
Application process
Students apply using IU’s online Selective Scholarship Application (SSA). You’ll be notified if your IU Bloomington application for admission qualifies you to be invited to fill out the SSA.
The College’s Scholarship Committee chooses recipients and notifies them in March.
Deadline
Applicants must submit a completed application for admission to IU Bloomington by November 1. Then they must complete the SSA by the date specified on the SSA.
Renewal
This scholarship may be renewable for up to four years.
About the donor
Bruce Waller established this scholarship to honor his children, Sasha and Brock, who were students at IU Bloomington. Sasha graduated in 2007 with a B.A. in psychology and a B.A. in sociology. Brock graduated in 2009 with a B.S. in kinesiology.
