Seniors majoring in Spanish and Portuguese awarded by AATSP

The Indiana Chapter of the American Association of Teachers of Spanish and Portuguese (AATSP) selected Indiana University Bloomington Spanish majors Abby Kerlin, Nathan Lin, Abby Aldridge, Rose Schnabel, Mary Slaughter, Sarah Kurpius as recipients of the 2022 Indiana Outstanding College Student of Spanish Award. Portuguese major Eduardo Duro received the 2022 Indiana Outstanding College Student of Portuguese Award. These IU students received these prestigious state awards for their outstanding academic record, exceptional interest for the Iberoamerican/Luso-Brazilian culture, exemplary community service, remarkable overseas experience, and strong passion for the Spanish/Portuguese language/culture/literature.  

These IU students are joined in this recognition other exceptional students from University of Notre Dame, Marian University, Purdue University, and Valparaiso University. Students at the time of the Indiana Outstanding College Student of Spanish Award nomination must be in their fourth year, have earned an A in all Spanish courses in their first three years, and hold a cumulative GPA of 3.7 or higher.
