- Course Description
In this course, you’ll conduct research at the University of Murcia as well as in the community, focusing on the linguistic landscape of Murcia and the linguistic differences between genders. Discover how language is used through city signs, paying attention to official vs. non-official signs, language used, etc., while understanding the historical and demographic configuration of the city. You will use your data collection to complete a perception project about language attitudes. You’ll also visit historical and touristic landmarks.

Includes academic fees, housing, some meals, excursions, and health insurance. Student is responsible for flights, personal expenses, and vacation travel.
Must have completed HISP-S 326 or its equivalent; must be enrolled in HISP-S 495 for the spring 2020 semester; have a 3.0 GPA.
