Pune, India
Persistent Systems is a $500 million technology services company founded by Anand Deshpande, who received his Ph.D. in computer science at IU in the 1980s. Headquartered in Pune, India, about 100 miles east of Mumbai, Persistent has offices around the world.
Persistent makes three or more internship positions in Pune available to IU College students each summer, spanning ten weeks from May to July. Interns will work in English. Positions may involve conducting a study of Persistent’s community service projects through field visits, data analysis, and report preparation, or working with the Human Resources team to develop special projects for personnel and analyze resource initiatives.
While these are unpaid internships, Persistent provides apartment housing and weekday lunches for interns, while the College provides funding sufficient for the selected interns’ airfare and living expenses.
Applications open in October for the following summer through the Walter Center’s internship portal.
