Sanders-Weber Scholarship Fund
The award may be renewed annually (for up to three years (six semesters) if you are a current freshman) while the student is progressing normally toward an English or Comparative Literature degree in the College of Arts and Sciences at IU Bloomington or in an IU-administered or IU-co-sponsored overseas study program. Renewal of the award is subject to the availability of funds and the student meeting the renewal criteria.
The College can offer two scholarships of $10,000 each to one student of English and one student of Comparative Literature.
To be eligible for the Sanders-Weber Scholarship, you must:
- have full-time undergraduate status in the College of Arts and Sciences and be pursuing a major in English or Comparative Literature
- have a current minimum cumulative GPA of 3.750
Preference for this scholarship is given to Indiana residents who exhibit leadership qualities and have financial need. You must have a current FAFSA on file with IU to verify financial need.
Application process and materials
To be considered for this scholarship, you must submit the following application materials by the deadline:
- Application form
- Personal statement
- Two letters of recommendation from College of Arts and Sciences faculty members

The Sanders-Weber scholarship was established by C. Clinton Sanders and Ardis G. Sanders in order to honor Mr. and Mrs. Mark A. Weber and to reflect their interest in the field of literature.
