Favorite IU memory: My favorite IU memory actually revolves around a night I initially thought would turn sour. It began with classes as most days do, and I had my intramural volleyball championship that night. We played well and barely lost, which initially displeased me. As I was walking out with my team, we noticed the Indiana Memorial Union (IMU) was open late for a midnight breakfast event. We decided to go in, and I proceeded to spend the next four hours with my friends, girlfriend, and some new people we met. We ate waffles, played games, and stayed up way too late for a Thursday night, but it made for one of the most fun nights I’ve had since arriving.
Why did I choose IU? I originally had no clue where I wanted to attend, and I only made my decision a few weeks before college applications were due. I first looked at academics and student life, where IU ranked highly for a myriad of reasons, but what really took the cake was my in-person visit. I visited and stayed at the Biddle Hotel, then I explored campus a bit before a guided tour that heavily intrigued me not only in the rich history, but the beauty and vastness of the campus. Some students I knew from years past who attended IU gave me their insights and had plenty of positives to list about the school, and that helped me set my mind on it.
