Advice for future IU students: My advice would be to give yourself room to grow and change! You do not need to come into college knowing exactly what you want your four years to look like. Say yes to new opportunities, meet people you might not normally meet, and try things that push you a little outside your comfort zone. College goes by incredibly fast, so focus less on creating the “perfect” experience and more on making it one that feels like your own.
Why did I choose IU? I chose IU because I wanted a school that would give me the freedom to explore my interests without feeling like I had to have everything figured out right away. I loved that there were so many ways to get involved, both academically and outside of the classroom, while still being able to find smaller communities within such a big university. Over the past few years, IU has given me opportunities to study abroad, gain experience in my field, and figure out what I want my life after college to look like. Now as a senior, I’m grateful I chose a school that allowed my college experience to grow alongside me.

Favorite IU memory: My favorite memory at IU was meeting my best friend and roommate of three years at the last football game of our freshman year. We spent that evening sharing stories from high school and realizing how similar our experiences adjusting to college had been. By the end of the year, we were touring apartments, shopping for our new place, and exploring all of Bloomington’s hidden gems.
