Author Tim O’Brien’s work is saturated with the themes of memory and truth. His collection of connected short stories The Things They Carried grappled directly with memory and how it's both unreliable and unrelenting. “Stories are for eternity, when memory is erased, when there is nothing to remember except the story,” O’Brien writes in that collection.
On October 29, the author will read from and discuss the themes of remembering and forgetting that permeate his work, including his new memoir, Dad’s Maybe Book. For those who can't attend the reading in person, our guest has graciously agreed to broadcast his talk live via a free webcast. The webcast is open to anyone who registers, but will not be archived. It can be viewed through broadcast.iu.com. No sign-in or registration is required.
