Through our academic outreach programs, we educate students of all ages and teachers of all levels, in Indiana and beyond. Which program is right for you?

Office of Research

This office supports students of all ages who are interested in science. It strives to increase participation and improve diversity in science through activities such as:

  • Precollege science research opportunities (9–12)
  • Science teacher resources and opportunities
  • Campus and community science engagement and communication
  • Science Fest: a one-day multidisciplinary learning festival 
  • ScIU Blog: fostering disccussion about interesting topics in science
  • Undergraduate science research programs

Arts + Sciences programs

Camp S.O.U.L.

Six days studying African American music through IU’s African American Arts Institute.

Foundations in Science and Mathematics

A summer program that helps students prepare for high school science and math classes.

High School Summer Dance Intensive

Training with IU faculty and guest artists, culminating in a studio showcase.

Jim Holland Summer Enrichment Program in Biology

Laboratory experiences and lectures for underrepresented high school students.

Midsummer Theatre Program

A variety of classes for high school students, concluding with a performance.

Project STEM

Summer research internships for high school students interested in science and engineering.

High school students who are interested in foreign languages and cultures should also consider applying to the IU Honors Program in Foreign Languages.

Media

Game Development Camp

A summer camp where high school students study and create video games.

High School Journalism Institute

Summer workshops in key skill areas for students, plus teacher workshops.
