You’re here to accomplish great things. We’re here to help make your goals a reality. As a student in the College of Arts and Sciences, you’ll work in partnership with your academic advisor and your career coach. Both play important roles in helping you determine your interests, choose a major, create a plan to achieve your academic and personal goals, and prepare for a successful future.
A community of support
Find your advisor
Not sure who to contact? You can locate your academic advisor in our Student Portal.
Our faculty members take great pride in their cutting-edge research, but they never lose sight of the fact that their first priority is educating and mentoring students. They are also here to help you make the most of your education.
Meeting regularly with your academic advisor and career coach to map out your academic journey, along with attending faculty office hours each semester, will enrich your experience at IU. It also ensures that you are aware of the opportunities and resources available to you to plan for life after college.
We'll help you get started
We're here to help you each step of the way. A good starting point is our Design Your Life and Career course, based on design thinking principles. This class introduces you to the outstanding resources on campus, pushes you to thoughtfully consider your interests and how they might influence your academic choices, and provides opportunities to meet new friends and get involved in fun activities.
