At the end of each term (Fall, Spring, and Summer), your record will be reviewed, and you will be assigned an academic standing based on your performance during that term. You can be assigned Good Academic Standing, Academic Watch, Academic Alert, and Academic Dismissal. These designations will appear on your student transcript, but not on the official transcript.
Your academic standing is determined by your cumulative GPA, term GPA, and major GPA (if you have a declared major). Your cumulative GPA includes all courses taken at any IU campus but does not include transfer course work. Your term GPA is calculated on courses you have taken in that term at IU. Your major GPA includes all IU courses being used to fulfill major requirements. You can find your cumulative, term, and major GPA on your Academic Advisement Report.
