Scholarships + Awards

More than 350 scholarships and awards for students

The College of Arts and Sciences’ scholarships reward academic merit and reduce financial need for many students—undergrad and graduate, incoming and current.

Our scholarships are competitive, and most are available only to students who have been admitted to or have declared a major in the College. They supplement other IU scholarships and awards you receive, plus any additional financial aid. Other scholarship sources—including individual College schools, departments, and programs—offer additional support to College students of all kinds.

To find out if you qualify for any of our scholarships for incoming freshmen, you must apply for admission to IU Bloomington by November 1.

College of Arts + Sciences scholarships for incoming freshmen

If your application for admission qualifies you to be invited to complete the Selective Scholarship Application (SSA), and you complete it by the deadline, you’ll be considered for a wide variety of scholarships at IU—including the College-wide awards below.

You should also complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) to be considered for as many College and IU scholarships as possible.

Your College school, department, and/or program may offer additional scholarships.
