Luminaries return to campus each year to share their advice, insights, and perspective on leading successful, meaningful lives. In doing so, the Luminaries model the ways in which a liberal arts education can lead to many different careers and forms of success.

Stephen Lewarne
Stephen Lewarne (M.A. ’91, Ph.D. ’92, Economics) is one of the most senior fiscal advisers and economists working in public finance, macroeconomic stability, and reconstruction. He is a retired partner at Deloitte Consulting U.S., where he was the lead economic technical adviser for the International Donor Organizations Account. Lewarne has led and contributed to over $3 billion in business development and implementation for donor programs in public finance, trade, and global health across the developing world.

Jill Waibel
Jill Waibel (B.S. ’92, Biology) is an accomplished and highly respected dermatologist with expertise in medical dermatology, cutaneous laser surgery, and cosmetic dermatology for patients of all ages. As the medical director and owner of the Miami Dermatology and Laser Institute in Miami, she leads a cutting-edge practice that focuses on advanced dermatologic treatments. Waibel has expanded her reach by opening an additional, state-of-the-art cosmetic, medical, and dermatology research facility in Coconut Grove, Fla., further enhancing her ability to provide innovative and comprehensive care.
