In 2014, during her freshman year at Indiana University, Mohr took on her first paid political campaign role, in the fight for marriage equality in Indiana. She went on to work for Hillary Clinton’s 2016 presidential campaign in its national headquarters and in Florida. She served as chief of staff on Pete Buttigieg’s 2020 presidential campaign and as deputy state director in the battleground state of Nevada for Joe Biden’s 2020 presidential campaign.
Mohr has long focused her efforts on gender justice and equality. She worked as a policy researcher for the Women’s Equality Party of the United Kingdom, as an organizer for the U.S.-based Human Rights Campaign, as an investigator intern with the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, and as a White House intern for then-First Lady Michelle Obama. She also served as advisor for strategic partnerships and policy at Hiring Our Heroes, the veteran and military spouse initiative within the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation, developing federal policy recommendations for military spouse employment. For several years, she volunteered as a patient escort at Planned Parenthood and for a domestic violence crisis hotline in Indiana.
As a Rhodes Scholar, Mohr earned an M.Sc. in comparative social policy and a master of public policy at the University of Oxford, writing her theses on abortion rights in the United States and in Ireland.
