We’re rolling out the crimson carpet to honor you and your accomplishment! Join us for our annual College Senior Send-Off on Friday, May 9 at 9:30 a.m. Executive Dean Rick Van Kooten will offer brief remarks before we recognize attending seniors, who will walk across the stage as their names are displayed on Assembly Hall's big screen. We will also present you with the College Key, a symbol of your achievement and the opportunities awaiting you.
This is your moment, so bring as many family members and friends as you wish to cheer you on!
8:30 a.m. Doors open at Simon Skjodt Assembly Hall for student check-in and student slideshow begins.
9:00 a.m. We ask that all students arrive by 9:00 a.m.
9:15 a.m. Students take their seats on the floor of Assembly Hall.
9:30 a.m. The official program commences with remarks from Executive Dean Rick Van Kooten. Each student’s name will be read in recognition of their achievement.
11:00 a.m. The College Senior Send-Off program concludes.
Save time by completing check-in at the Walter Center! You can pick up your name card and free Class of 2025 T-shirt at the Walter Center in Ernie Pyle Hall any time Monday–Friday, 9:00 a.m.– 4:30 p.m. in the two weeks before Send-Off (April 28–May 8). Your name card is your ticket to the ceremony, and you'll hand it to our name reader when it's your time to shine.
If you can't make it to early check-in or lose your name card, you'll need to arrive by 9:00 a.m. on May 9 to complete the check-in process at Assembly Hall.
The College Senior Send-Off slideshow will be displayed on the big screens in Assembly Hall prior to the celebration. Share your IU memory or photo to be included. The deadline for submission is April 13.
Get festive. Dress to impress, however you define your personal style: business casual, semi-formal, festive formal, or a fashion inspired by your major. Have fun with it!
Important note: Cap and gown are not to be worn. These are reserved for the Spring Undergraduate Commencement on Saturday, May 10.
Parking is available for free in all lots surrounding Simon Skjodt Assembly Hall for the day. Accessible parking for graduates or guests with ADA hangtags or license plates is available at Gate 2 or 4 off of 17th Street.
Guests who do not have ADA hangtags or license plates may follow the instructions listed above. Drivers may drop off guests who use wheelchairs or have limited mobility at the north lobby entrance of Simon Skjodt Assembly Hall, where it is comfortable to wait until drivers have parked their vehicles and returned to the lobby.
Tickets are not issued for the College Senior Send-Off, and you can bring as many guests as you wish. Guest seating is offered on a first-come, first-served basis in sections not reserved for seniors, academic advisors, or faculty. Ushers will be stationed throughout the stadium to direct guests to the best possible seats.
Accessible seating is available for guests in wheelchairs and with limited mobility. Venue staff are trained to assist with special seating for guests in wheelchairs and with limited mobility.
The closest airport to Bloomington is Indianapolis International Airport. Allow 1.5 hours of travel time from the airport to Bloomington. You can also use a shuttle service to travel between the Indianapolis International Airport and Bloomington: Bloomington Shuttle Service.
Accommodations for guests who are Deaf or hard-of-hearing
Closed captioning and sign language interpreting are available at the ceremony.
Guests in need of these services are encouraged to ask attendants for seating where these services are easily viewed.
Seating for guests with wheelchairs or mobility limitations
Guests with wheelchairs and other members of their parties should ask a uniformed attendant for seating assistance once their parties are complete.
Attendants will make every effort to provide the parties of guests who use wheelchairs with appropriate seating.
Taking part in the recognition ceremony with a wheelchair or mobility limitation
Assembly Hall provides a wheelchair lift to access the stage. Graduates will cross the stage in the recognition line and then circle back to the lift to return to the floor.
Parking for guests with wheelchairs or mobility limitations
If any member of your party uses a wheelchair, and the vehicle that is being used has a government-issued accessibility tag, please enter the athletics complex via Gate 2 off 17th St. or Gate 13 off Fee Lane. Attendants will provide directions to the designated ADA lot.
No prior parking arrangements are required for guests whose vehicles have ADA tags. Guests who do not have ADA tags or license plates may also follow the same instructions as listed above.
Drivers may drop off guests who use wheelchairs at the north lobby entrance of Simon Skjodt Assembly Hall, where it is comfortable to wait until drivers have parked their vehicles and returned to the lobby.
Wheelchair users must bring their own wheelchairs, with personal identification attached and prominently displayed. Indiana University does not supply wheelchairs.

For families and friends who cannot attend, the College Senior Send-Off will be livestreamed on broadcast.iu.edu.
In accordance with University Event guidelines, guests will walk through metal detectors upon arrival and all bags will be subject to inspection. Guests can bring clear bags about the size of a one-gallon freezer bag or a small clutch about the size of a hand. Medical and diaper bags are also permitted. Prohibited items include backpacks, umbrellas, banners, placards, flags, noise makers, weapons, packages, and outside food and beverages. The concession stands will be open. Flowers are welcome!
